A good real estate agent will have professional connections to conveyancers and solicitors though some may think there may be an underlying motive or benefit to the agent.
In reality, while most agents can refer you to a solicitor or conveyancer they have a long standing relationship with, the solicitor must always act in the best interests of the client whether it be a buyer or a seller. If time is of the essence and you need legal representation quickly in order to secure a property sale or purchase, then it may be more convenient for you to use your agents recommended conveyancer.
As with any major decision however, we recommend you do your homework by checking whether the fee for work quoted is reasonable and you are comfortable with your choice. Family, friends and colleagues are also a good source to use for recommendations.
