Elsternwick sits comfortably between Elwood, St Kilda East, Caulfield and Brighton East and has the best of all those worlds. With homes ranging from elegantly classic stately Manors, to ultra modern apartments and everything in between this is one of the most sought after tightly held suburbs in Melbourne.
Once you have lived here it is hard to imagine a better place. The suburb has a wonderful blend of cultures living in harmony and it has a great sense of community. The ease of access to the area is amazing, with the Sandringham railway line traversing the area, the 67 Tram travelling to and from the CBD and Nepean Highway providing a comfortable flow for road transport in and out of the suburb, Elsternwick is perfectly situated close to the city along the bayside corridor.
Once you are back home in Elsternwick, it has everything you need within walking distance - literally. The foodies are spoilt for choice, with all cuisines covered and from fine dining to cafes serving some of the best coffee and pastries you will find anywhere, Elsternwick and surrounds have it covered in spades. With Attica, voted the Restaurant of the year in The Age Good Food Guide 2012, just a stroll down Glen Eira Rd, the renowned Franks Bakery and many brilliant bars, cafes and restaurants dotted along Glenhuntly Road amongst the banks, boutiques and chemists, Elsternwick has one of the premier strip shopping precincts in Melbourne.
For entertainment there is the famous Classic Cinema in Gordon Street and Elsternwick Hotel; Elsternwick Park; Golf Course (all interestingly officially in Elwood!); The Elsternwick Club and Caulfield RSL. Parks actually in Elsternwick include the famous Harleston Park, Hopetoun Gardens, and the Heritage listed Rippon Lea. All of this plus the best private schools in Melbourne - Wesley College; Caulfield Shelford Girls' and Melbourne Grammar Schools, along with St Joseph's and Sholem Aleichem Primary Schools.
As you can see there is much to recommend Elsternwick as an extremely liveable and convenient suburb - the advantages of the inner city - but with a family feel. Perhaps it is because people tend to be raised here and know their neighbours; maybe it is because so many people walk around the streets that make it feel safe; whatever it is we all know that it is the great sense of community and belonging that makes Elsternwick so special.
Woodards specialises in real estate sales and leasing in Elsternwick and the surrounding suburbs of Elwood, Gardenvale, St Kilda, St Kilda East, Balaclava, Caulfield, Caulfield North, Caulfield East, Caulfield South, Ripponlea, Brighton and Brighton East.
