"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." Ralph Waldo Emerson
At Woodards, we encourage our staff to be actively involved in the communities in which they live and work, whether through fundraising or donating time to local charities, schools, sporting groups and associations.
Working with our community to make a difference
In July 2014 Woodards Charitable Foundation was established to alleviate the impact of negative social trends and by dealing with issues such as:
ii. domestic violence
iii. drug and alcohol dependence; and
iv. social isolation
The Foundation will strive to achieve these Objects by:
a) Providing financial support and assistance to charities and community organisations with established
projects and services to care for those who are experiencing one or more of these social impacts;
b) Increasing community awareness of the impact of these social issues; and
c) Promoting wider community participation in reducing the prevalence of these social issues
In 2007 we partnered with the Bionic Institute - an organisation dedicated to the development and research of both cochlear implants and more recently the Bionic Eye. Their ground breaking work has allowed many people to enjoy a better quality of life and experience first hand things that most of us take for granted.
CEO of the Woodards Group, John Piccolo says "This partnership allows Woodards to assist the Bionic Institute raise much needed funds for further research and awareness, not only in the restoration of sight and hearing, but also to explore whether bionic technology can assist in the treatment of spinal injury, epilepsy, coronary disease and other neuro related conditions".
Woodards are proud to help in some small way the amazing work of the Bionic Institute.
