Ready in a Snap

This lockdown has been called the circuit breaker, and it appears the circuit has been broken. Fortunately for us we were already prepared with the right strategies, technology and contingencies to deal with anything at Woodards. Here is a short summary of what the announcement today means for us in property, and what tools we have at our disposal to help all our clients.

What was announced?

The Victorian Government announced the easing of restrictions today, which take effect after 11:59pm tonight, Wednesday 17 February.

There’ll no longer be four reasons to leave home. The five-kilometre restriction will no longer apply.

Open for Inspections and Auctions can now be conducted, subject to the density quotient of one person per 2sqm.

Students will be able to head back to school.

Offices are allowed to open, with 50% of staff back.

Masks will be required everywhere indoors except at your home.

Restaurants and retail can reopen. Same too with community facilities, entertainment venues and all other public places – although some additional limits on crowd sizes will be in place.

What does it mean?

Open For Inspections and Auctions

Inspections and auctions are allowed after 11:59pm tonight, with a density quotient of 1 person per 2sqm. Our agents use the latest in electronic record keeping software, but at other agents’ inspections, if they are still using the old pad and pen, the density quotient is 1 person per 4sqm. This means that inspections prior to and the auctions on Saturday can proceed in-person which we are very excited about. We will ensure that all COVID-Safe protocols are in place for your safety.

My Property

If we help you manage your property, whether you are the owner or the tenant, we are here to help. We understand that this snap lockdown could have thrown a spanner in the works for you in many ways. We will be returning to more business-as-usual operations (whatever that means) tomorrow.

Our Offices

All our offices will now be open, with 50% of staff back. All our offices have a COVID-Safe Plan in place and have operated during lockdowns and various restricted periods effectively. Reach out to your local office here for the right solution for you and, as always, if you have the will for a solution without contact, we have the way.
