Clare Adams

Licensed Real Estate Agent at Woodards Carnegie

Got a wish list property in Glen Eira? Or maybe you’ve got a place in the area you’re looking to sell. Either way, Clare Adams is the person you want in your corner.

Raised in Glen Huntly and now a dedicated agent with Woodards Carnegie, Clare knows the south-east’s sweet spots by heart, from Glen Huntly Road’s buzzing dining strip and village-style shopping to leafy weekend staples like Caulfield Park. A quick trip from the city, excellent schools and a multicultural, close-knit community, it’s easy to see why families, investors and first-home buyers alike set their sights here.

Clare’s edge is equal parts local knowledge and calm execution. We sat down with Clare to talk about her path into property, what makes Glen Eira tick, and why she still loves helping locals make their next move.

  1. Can you tell us a little about your background in real estate and what first attracted you to the industry?
I started in real estate straight out of high school; I was still 17 and didn’t even have my driver’s licence. At the time, I was considering going to university to study psychology, but it all felt a bit too hard. So I took a job on reception at Woodards as more of a means to an end rather than a clear career choice. I can’t say it was love at first sight or that I instantly knew I’d found my forever career, but I quickly progressed from reception to assistant, then into property management and BDM roles, before finally moving into sales and that’s when everything clicked. Having worked across every facet of the business, I’ve developed a real appreciation for each role and the people who make it all happen

  2. What do you love most about working in real estate and being an auctioneer?
Safe to say, I know my strengths, and auctioneering isn’t one of them! I’ve never been drawn to the podium. My passion lies in the human side of real estate helping people navigate what can be an emotional and life-changing process. I’ve also shaped my career so I can have a real career while being there for my family. Being available for my children is one of the most important things to me, and this job allows that. Of course, there are sacrifices, but the rewards both professionally and personally, make it completely worthwhile.

  3. How would you describe Glen Eira and its communities to someone considering buying a property here?
I grew up in Glen Huntly, and my family still live here. In fact, my great grandma built the house my parents still live in. I went to primary school in Caulfield South, and my offices have been in Glen Huntly, Carnegie, and Bentleigh - Glen Eira is truly all I’ve ever known. Beyond the fantastic schools, parks, infrastructure, and multicultural vibe, it’s the sense of community that makes it so special. Many of my childhood friends have stayed local, even when they could have moved elsewhere. There’s just something about Glen Eira that keeps people tied to it, a real sense of connection and belonging that’s hard to find anywhere else.

  4. What was it about Woodards that made you want to make the move?
Call me a creature of habit or maybe just slightly boring or maybe I just know when I’m onto something good but I’ve never worked anywhere else. I’m now coming into my 17th year with Woodards Carnegie. For me, it’s the people who make it truly special. They’ve become like family, celebrating my wins and supporting me through the losses. I’ve learned and grown so much over the years, but the best part is doing it alongside the people who’ve been there from the very beginning.

  5. How does the culture at Woodards align with your values as an agent?
Our office culture is such a great fit for me. There’s a perfect balance of professionalism and playfulness, and everyone genuinely supports one another. Real estate has its moments, so being around people who can recognise those shifts and lift each other up is important. I feel lucky to be part of a team where I’m always happy to come to work.

  6. What excites you most about being part of the Woodards team?
The past 12 months have been incredibly rewarding...not only have I enjoyed a wonderful balance at home with my two young children, but I’ve also had my most successful year professionally. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved and of the amazing team culture we’ve built at Woodards. What excites me most is being surrounded by such driven, supportive people and knowing that together we can keep raising the bar. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

  7. If you had to describe Woodards in three words, what would they be?
    Calm, Control and Confidence.

  8. What are your goals for the next year at Woodards, and what advice would you give to someone considering making the move?
My main goal for the next year is to focus on my own growth, both personally and professionally. I’d love to bring someone on board to work alongside me – someone eager to learn, grow, and help drive my business forward while developing their own career at the same time. The idea of building that partnership and growing together really excites me. For anyone thinking about making the move, I’d say – please call me!
