Interior trends for 2023

Interesting for: Seller, Buyer, Rental Provider, Lifestyle

We asked some leading Melbourne property stylists for tips and insights on ideas trending in 2023.

What inspires you?

Crafting spaces that are inspired by the natural beauty of Australia and infused with cultural and unique elements from around the world. By combining sustainability with a timeless simplicity and using one-of-a-kind curated pieces, you can create an essence and style that is truly unique to you.

What trends do you foresee for 2023?

Neutrals have had a strong presence in recent years. It’s easy to understand why. Neutral colours are easy to incorporate into most design schemes, whether they’re modern, contemporary or somewhere in between. Like elements in nature, neutrals speak to our core with an invitation to rest and reset. In 2023 expect neutrals to join greens, tones of desert sand sun-washed terracotta. Nature has a calming effect, which is important in our chaotic world today.

Checkerboard patterns are showing up in rugs, textiles, and accessories and organic irregular shapes in mirrors and accent pieces that make us feel like we are on a Mediterranean coast.

 Artful arches

Curves were huge in 2022 and it seems the appeal isn’t fading this year. Originating back in ancient Rome and often found in prestige homes today, arches soften hard edges and look undeniably chic. Excellent examples of arches used in design include arched doorways, rounded furniture and geometric tiles with arched patterns.

Is it worth investing in a property stylist?

Investing in a property stylist can be well worth the cost. These experts have the ability to enhance the space, flow, and functionality of a property, making it more appealing to a wide range of buyers. Contemporary styling is crucial for making a strong first impression, particularly when it comes to online photos of the property, which are often the first introduction for potential buyers.

Property staging creates an immediate impact and helps potential buyers or renters to envision themselves in the space, and how it meets their needs. With the current real estate market, staging is crucial for achieving faster results and higher prices.
